Product Description

Superflex-V is a proven natural remedy for osteo-arthritis and joint pain in dogs of all breeds and ages.

Scientific evidence proves that velvet antler and NZ green lipped mussel supplement is both safer and more effective treatment for osteo-arthritis and joint pain in dogs than the use of non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID’s)

But first let’s look at the problem, the scientific evidence, veterinary reports and the simple natural solution.

Over 15 million dogs in USA alone are currently suffering from osteo-arthritis; their joints are stiff and painful every time they want to move.

Veterinarians report that osteo-arthritis affects over 80% of older dogs and dogs of larger breeds and while it is more common in susceptible breeds where the incidence of arthritis, hip dysplasia and congenital joint disease is most common it can affect dogs of all shapes and sizes, breeds and ages.

It is well known that non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID’s) can cause serious side effects and death in dogs following the class action lawsuit against the Pfizer Company’s Rimadyl product. The US FDA has forced the manufacturers of Rimadyl to carry a label warning that it could cause death in dogs. There are many other brands of NSAID’s which also carry warnings about the risk of serious side effects.

Velvet Antler is Approved by the US FDA

In 1999 the use of velvet antler was scientifically supported in compliance with FDA regulations for its ability "to support healthy joint structure and function".

According to veterinarian Dr. Cathy Alinovi “Every time a veterinarian prescribes any NSAID, that dog is at risk of intestinal, kidney and even liver damaging side effects. And Labradors are worse! (Why? Genetics.) This is why, most vets will recommend periodic bloodwork to “be sure” there aren’t complications. However, this isn’t fool proof. Cats are even more at risk – their liver just can’t detoxify the medications”.

The realisation that NSAID’s could no longer be trusted to provide risk free anti-inflammatory action and pain relief had left a gap in the market for a safe product for relieving pain and enhancing joint health in dogs, cats and for human use.

Enter Deer Velvet Antler

The use of Velvet Antler is not new, in fact it has been one of the most revered natural products in Oriental medicine alongside Ginseng for over 2000 years. It is just not as well known in the West, but that is changing quite rapidly now as scientific studies have proven its effectiveness and enlightened veterinarians have reported positive results and a total absence of negative side effects.

Deer Velvet Antler is made from the soft antler of deer and elk harvested under veterinary supervision before it hardens, calcifies and turns to bone. In this soft or “velvet” stage of growth the antler contains a wide range of compounds, minerals, vitamins and growth hormones that have been proven to support joint health and flexibility while diminishing or removing associated pain to the person or animal.

Deer velvet antler is totally sustainable as a new set of antlers are grown every year by the male deer. This happens in the wild, in the normal course of the life cycle of the deer, they grow a new set of antlers every year in the spring months, shedding the fully grown ones towards the end of winter every year. All we do in the harvesting of antler is to take them off while the antler is still in the soft stage with a light coating of velvet like hairs, this is when the antler contains the maximum amount of nutrients that will be beneficial to the patient, human or animal.

The reason that antler velvet is so effective as a natural dietary supplement lies in the wealth of unique compounds contained in this outstanding product:

Proteins and Growth Factors
Amino acids - precursors for all protein production, aids tissue growth, muscle recovery and repair
Insulin-like growth factors (IGF-1, 2) - precursors for the growth hormone production, promotes muscle growth, tissue growth and organ health
Epidermal growth factor (EGF) - protein that stimulates cell growth to produce collagen, for cell renewal and wound healing
Collagen - a structural protein present in bone, tendons, ligaments, other connective tissue and articular cartilage

Glycosaminoglycans (GAG’s)
Glucosamine sulphate - builds, maintains and repairs joint structures including bone, cartilage, ligaments, joint fluids and tendons
Chondroitin sulphate - helps protect and rebuild degenerating cartilage, gives cartilage elasticity, an anti-inflammatory agent
Hyaluronic acid - a substance that binds cartilage cells together and lubricates joints

Lipids
Phospholipids - builds cell components and enhances cellular activities, repairs structural damage caused by free radicals, pathogens and toxins
Glycosphingolipids - compounds involved with growth and metabolism of cells and with memory and learning
Prostaglandins - regulates contraction and relaxation of muscles, regulates inflammatory mediation

Minerals
Calcium - builds and maintains bones, teeth and nerves, important for muscle contraction, nerve transmission, blood pressure and blood clotting
Phosphorus - a key component of metabolic reactions, provides structure for bones and teeth, important for function of heart and kidney
Potassium - essential for electrolyte balance and also muscle and nerve function
Sodium - allows the body to maintain normal fluid balance and electrolytes
Magnesium - helps cells restore and release energy for regular muscle and nerve function

Trace Elements
Selenium - powerful antioxidant that reduces infections, protects blood cells, the heart, liver and lungs
Sulphur - element of insulin and various amino acids, protects body against toxins
Zinc - a component of more than 90 enzymes necessary for healthy skin, growth and the healing of wounds
Copper - essential for formation of red blood cells, energy making, bone and connective tissues
Iron - essential in the blood cells transporting oxygen through the body
Cobalt - Used for anemia and stimulating new red blood cells. Required in the synthesis of vitamin B12

Other Compounds
Monoamine- oxidase inhibitors - an enzyme that inhibits the oxidation of neurotransmitters, improves mood and feeling of well-being
Erythropoietin - a hormone produced by specialized kidney cells to stimulate red blood cell production

There is simply no other supplement - natural or synthetic that can replicate the compounds present in total balance as are in velvet antler.

The proof of Velvet Antlers’ effectiveness

Study 1

The University of Montreal (Quebec, Canada), February 2004:

Maxim Moreau, Jacques Dupuis, Norbert H. Bonneau, Manon Lecuyer: The findings were published in the Canadian Veterinary Journal. The Canadian Veterinary Journal, published by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, is the 'voice of veterinary medicine in Canada'.

Abstract

A powder of elk velvet antler was evaluated on client-owned dogs with osteo-arthrosis in a clinical, double-blind, and placebo-controlled study. Thirteen dogs received a placebo for 30 days and then velvet antler for 60 days. Twenty-five other dogs received velvet antler for 60 days.

Gait analysis measured with a force plate, clinical signs assessed by an orthopedic surgeon, performances in daily life activities and vitality assessed by the owners, and complete blood analyses were obtained at days 0, after 30 days of placebo and/or 60 days of velvet antler.

On placebo, the 13 dogs did not show significant improvement (P > 0.05); however, their gait, their performances in daily life activities, and their vitality were significantly improved on elk velvet antler, based on changes in values exceeding those observed when placebo was administered. The 25 dogs on elk velvet antler for 60 days showed similar improvements. No clinical changes were revealed on blood analyses. Administration of velvet antler was effective in alleviating the condition in arthritic dogs.

Study 2

Douglas County Animal Hospital in conjunction with the University of Minnesota:

This Velvet Antler Clinical Trial was conducted by Glen Zebarth, DVM, and Rebecca Laton, DVM, of the Douglas County Animal Hospital in Alexandria, Minnesota, in conjunction with the University of Minnesota. Trial Completion Date: 5-30-07

Summary

A clinical field trail was conducted in dogs diagnosed with traumatic and/or degenerative joint disease of one or multiple joints diagnosed by physical examination, including range of motion evaluations and radiographs. Joints evaluated included hip, stifle, shoulder, carpus, and elbow.

Seventy limbs in 45 dogs were analyzed based on nine areas of mobility-related criteria; each limb was scored from one (no signs) to four (severe) at trial initiation, six weeks and 12 weeks. Mobility and systemic effects using hematological tests, veterinarian assessment and owner perceptions were measured.

Results

According to a Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Non-Parametric statistical analysis performed by Dr. Carl Jessen, University of Minnesota, dogs treated with Velvet Antler supplement statistically improved.

All trial animals exhibited significantly improved range of motion and orthopaedic scores in the areas of walking, trotting, running, and climbing stairs.

The vast majority of these dogs exhibited extreme signs of improvement at the 6 week and the 12 week examinations. Individual joints were analyzed; results show a statistical improvement in shoulder pain and movement, stifle pain and movement, and hip pain and movement.

Dog and Cat Arthritis

Arthritis is thought to affect one in every five dogs and around the same number in cats. As your pets become older, you may notice them slowing down and stiffening up. Don’t accept this as an inevitable part of the aging process – your cat or dog may have arthritis.

Arthritis in dogs is one of the most common health problems seen by vets and unfortunately is rarely noticed in the early stages because these animals tend to ignore soreness and discomfort until the arthritic changes in the joints have progressed significantly.

Arthritis is caused by abnormalities of the joints in the body and where significant structural changes have occurred. Some of the more common causes of arthritis, which is basically inflammation of a joint, are misalignment of joint structures, poor diet and nutrition, accident or infection to the joints, torn ligaments and tendons, genetic malformation of the bone structure, plus overweight puppies during the growth stages and also auto-immune problems.

Arthritis can ultimately result in joints that simply don't work properly. Since there are no blood vessels or sensory nerves in joint cartilage, damage to cartilage can be quite advanced before the surrounding supportive tissues become inflamed and sore.

Your dog may be beginning to suffer from degenerative joint disease or canine osteoarthritis which occurs when the cartilage that protects the lining of the joints is damaged or destroyed resulting in inflammation, pain and discomfort. This can be as a result of abnormalities like hip or elbow dysplasia, or just from the wear and tear of an active lifestyle

Is Your Dog Beginning to Show These Signs?

• Reluctance to walk, climb steps or stairs, jump or play

• Limping

• Lagging behind on walks

• Difficulty getting up after resting

• Yelping with pain when touched

• Personality changes e.g. aggression, or becoming withdrawn

What Veterinarians say about Deer Velvet Antler

Veterinarians have reported that over 85% of older dogs responded positively, while one university study concluded that every one of 42 dogs in a study displayed improved joint function after taking Velvet Antler for 30 days.

Vet Report 1

“An old friend introduced me to this fabulous product and managed to convince me ‘to give it a try!’ I tried it on Dougal, an 8 ½ year old Labrador with severe conformational problems and advanced osteoarthritis of both elbows. More than 24 months of continual therapy had produced variable relief. Within 2 weeks of starting Deer velvet antler-V, Dougal’s owner reported that Dougal had started to look forward to his walks, seemed brighter and she had even seen a little skip and a jump in his walk. Dougal’s improvement prompted his owner to insist that I obtained further product just for Dougal”.

Vet Report 2

“In another case, Tamdugh was a 13 year old Labrador Cross with generalised osteoarthritis and a bad attitude. Tamdugh had been on and off therapies for 7 months, which offered only temporary relief and did nothing for his intermittent stumbling over his hindlimbs or his bad attitude. Tamdugh’s owners reported that within 14 days of starting Deer velvet antler, he was ‘moving like a pup, playful and demanding his walks.’ No longer was his bad attitude a concern.
After conducting five separate ‘trials’ on patients, I became hooked on the usefulness of this new found dietary supplement and thus committed to become more involved in its mystic mechanisms and uses. After all is said, it is the patient response and their owner’s complete joy in the visual benefits that has cemented my belief in this product.”

What form of Velvet Antler should I get for my dog?

Velvet Antler is processed by initial freeze drying then powdering before being either encapsulated or made into a chewable tablet.

There are a number of processors who produce capsules and tablets in these forms with an absorption rate of approximately 17% of the compounds present in Velvet Antler.

However UB-Bio Ltd. a New Zealand Company has developed a patented bio-active process (USA Patent # 6482443) involving the fermentation of the dried antler powder which reduces the size of the protein molecule in the velvet antler resulting in an absorption rate of 70%

While this product is more expensive to produce than the standard product it has 4 times the bio-availability so your dog will benefit sooner by relieving the symptoms of osteoarthritis at a lower dose rate than other forms of velvet antler treatment.

Velvet Antler also acts as a tonic, renewing, reinvigorating and restoring energy and vitality to pets, helping them to live happier, healthier, pain-free lives. It helps to prevent disease, strengthens the immune system and increases stamina.

Velvet Antler has been tested on humans for over two thousand years, forming a cornerstone of Oriental medicine, it is one of the most widely-researched, natural, sustainable, safe and effective treatments for joint health in the world today.

Velvet Antler is Approved by the US FDA

In 1999 the use of velvet antler was scientifically supported in compliance with FDA regulations for its ability "to support healthy joint structure and function".

Other therapeutically valuable actions including immune stimulation, anti-aging, protective and rejuvenating effects and beneficial effects in blood and circulation are currently the subject of widespread international study.

As you have read Velvet Antler has been proven in University Studies and Veterinary Trials to relieve the symptoms of Osteoarthritis Canine Hip Dysplasia, Congenital Joint Disease (CJD) and to be a cost effective alternative to NSAID treatment without the risk of side effects.

  1. Noticeable improvement :)

Posted by Teresa on 26th Apr 2017

I've only been using SuperflexV Advanced Dog Formula for around 2 week and I can see a noticeable improvement in my Labrador already. I had tried some other remedies that are commonly used but they didn't seem to have any noticeable effect.
He was getting very limpy in the evenings and this has lessened. Getting up was starting to look like hard work. We've been away on a little holiday which he came along to and I did wonder whether extra walking etc would cause more problems - he usually walks at least 1 -2 hours a day anyhow but we tended to be out and about all day on holiday.
I was very keen to try and find a natural way to ease his aches before resorting to injections at the vet etc and I'm hoping I've found it . So I'm hoping to see continued improvement.
Maybe I should be buying something similar for my arthritis?

  2. Wish I had found it sooner.

Posted by Unknown on 30th Jan 2017

Sally is my 12 year old Basset Hound and has had trouble with stiff joints in her back legs, finding it difficult to get up and down.. I started her on the deer velvet and within 2-3 weeks found an amazing change in her condition. She does not have the difficulty when she lay's down and runs around like a young puppy again.

  3. 10 year old Bichon Maltese PUPPY :)

Posted by Connie Nichtern on 4th Mar 2016

My 10 year old Bichon Maltese was having some problems with his entire front right leg area cramping, having joint issues or arthitis. He would cry/whimper in pain if I would touch him anywhere around this leg . At times, when he stood up, he would either hold it straight out, or other times, it would go limp and he would be dragging his paw. He didn’t jump on the couch like he had in the past and he refrained from using the stairs as much as he could. I took him to the vet and they suggested Dasuquin. This alone didn’t seem to take care of the problem. I decided to go on-line and found New Zealand Velvet Agility chewable tablets. I ordered the tablets in November 2015, gave them to him along with the Dasuquin and have seen a significant difference in him. He barks and wants to play with my other two dogs (ages 9 and 5), he jumps up on the couch like he use to, he hasn’t drug his front leg nor held it straight out and seems to be in no pain at all.

He is now 11 years old and nobody believes that he is that age. He acts like he is still a puppy. When I received the tablets, I thought that I saw an improvement within two weeks (but I didn’t know if I had really saw this improvement or just WANTED to see it). I definitely saw a significant improvement within a month. I am now ordering my second bottle of these tablets and will continue to use this product. It is AMAZING. I have told all my friends about it as well, so when it is time for them to start looking for something to help their dog, they will be ordering from this website too. THANK YOU for this wonderful formula.

  4. I wish I had known about Velvet Agility sooner

Posted by Margaret on 11th Dec 2014

A chance meeting with a lady I went to socialization/obedience classes for Charlie with years ago...........Her collie is 14 and running like a pup....Charlie is a 15 year old border collie . I have used glucosamine, cod liver oil and painkillers for years to help his joints. He has difficulty standing up alone, but once up he walks a wobbly walk. Before I started him on Velvet Agility he was eating, but seemed to have almost given up - sleeping a lot in the day and not bothering to show interest in anything but food. He has had three strokes and I thought I was losing him He has been on Velvet Vitality for just over a month and the improvement is huge. He obviously is not bouncing, still needs a helping hand to stand up, but now and again he has a short burst of speed. He mostly stays awake in the day and is interested in everything that is going on. I know he can't live forever, but his quality of life with his bad legs has vastly improved.
    Thank you
    Margaret

  5. 15 year old Border Collie walking much better after 10 days.

Posted by Margaret McCallen on 19th Nov 2014

Charlie my 15 year old seemed to be giving up slowly. He was tired after 200 yards. I received my first batch of Velvet Agility 10 days ago and he has got his zest for life back. Walking further the last couple of days, he still has difficulty standing up without help, but I can't wait until he has been on them a month. He is alert again and doesn't sleep so much in the day, obviously at 15 he isn't bouncing, but he has a little longer left of a happy, seemingly pain free life.
    Thank you.

  6. Great success with velvet antler

Posted by Brenda Wilkin, Waikanae, New Zealand on 5th Oct 2012

Sally, my 13 yo German Shorthaired Pointer had been suffering from back and hind leg stiffness since the age of 9&1/2. Sally had always been an extremely active dog as befits her breed but I began to notice that after bouts of hard exercise her back legs would tremble and she also appeared to be in pain.
Our vet prescribed Metacam, a NSAID and I noticed an immediate improvement in Sally, clearly she was much happier and no longer in any pain so I decided to keep her on Metacam despite my misgivings about NSAIDS. I had also tried other ‘natural’ remedies for Sally but nothing seemed to work. As she got older, Sally developed quite a persistent ‘tremble’ in her hind legs and this never went away even while she took Metacam.
A colleague told me about a deer velvet based product, ‘Velvet Agility’ and that Kapiti vet Doron Zur was conducting a study on its efficacy. I was given a one month sample with instructions to give Sally 3 x tabs per day while still keeping her on Metacam for the first week or two. I actually ran out of Metacam after the first week and never went back.
I am just amazed and thrilled at how well this natural supplement works for her. Sally is certainly pain free and seems to have not only become much more supple but more energetic too. Her eyes are bright, her coat thick and shiny and the only clue to her age is the grey around her muzzle and eyes. An added bonus is that her hind legs seldom tremble now, only on the odd occasion when she overdoes the exercise – and by that I mean when she races flat out after rabbits! I would never be without Velvet Antler as , not only does it work but it is far cheaper than NSAIDS and much, much better for the dog.

  7. No side effects

Posted by Tess Langham on 5th Oct 2012

Tierra ( 11 year-old Australian Shepherd) had terrible x-rays, almost no normal hip joints left. She has been on Velvet Antler for over three months and doing great. I have noticed no side-effects to the medication.

  8. Doing great, seems pain free

Posted by Ardis Adams on 5th Oct 2012

Schotzy (11 year-old Doberman) has bad hips and arthritis cervical vertebrae. She used to cry out in pain when you touched her head or neck. She has been on velvet antler for several months and is doing great. She runs and plays again, and seems pain free.

  9. More like a puppy

Posted by John Cottoneo on 5th Oct 2012

Desi (10 year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback) was extremely crippled in her legs. We tried all the different arthritis medications with limited results. She has been on Velvet Antler for four months, and acts more like a puppy than an old dog.

  10. Amazing results

Posted by Unknown on 5th Oct 2012

Curly, our 12 1/2 Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix, has been suffering from hip dysphasia since the age of two. After her yearly vaccines this August, she crashed and stopped using her rear legs. Her inability to walk caused dehydration and a bladder infection. She was so sick, miserable and frustrated at her lack of ability to get around, we were planning to help her to the bridge, and shed many tears. We really figured that this was to be the end of her lifespan. Miraculously, she walked down the stairs unaided the evening of her first dose to greet me when I came home from work! I'm not sure who was happier- the dog or me!
I can also attest to the effectiveness of your product. I've seen it (and felt it) work twice in our household. I have suffered from a rare disease called Mastocytosis for the last three years. Some of the minor symptoms are extreme fatigue and bone pain. I've done my best to keep pushing and not let the disease hamper my lifestyle, but it gets overwhelming sometimes. I ordered the special offered with Animal Wellness Magazine and started taking it the same day as Curly. I have to say that my fatigue has largely disappeared, and my bone pain is completely gone. I have never had any other product or medication make me feel like a normal person for three years.
I can actually say that I feel mostly like a well person now, and Curly has had an amazing turnaround. The results for both of us have been amazing, and I am eternally grateful. The whole family now takes it, myself and my husband, and both dogs. I heartily recommend your product to anyone I think might benefit from it, as I have seen the results firsthand.
    Thanks again!

  11. More lively and mobile following operation

Posted by Stephanie Preist, Paraparaumu, New Zealand on 5th Oct 2012

“After two cruciate ligament operations and being treated on caprefen-based NSAID drugs, my six year old St Bernard, Eccles, still needed my help to stand.
In only a few days after my vet recommended that I try him on deer velvet, I stopped all other medications and he was standing on his own and was much more lively and mobile.
The result was so great that I am now taking deer velvet capsules myself.”

Her dogs have won many competitions over the years - both regional and international - and she has been treating her dogs in the Medico-Vet clinic for the last 6 years.
Queen, also known as Golden Gate Always Against, was one of Inna's beloved. At the age of 12, as do many dogs, Queen started to struggle when getting up on her feet and walking around.
Inna started giving her Deer velvet antler and within two weeks Queen was able to walk around, climb the stairs and live a respectably active life until the age of 15.
As a result of that experience, Inna has decided to treat all of her adult dogs with Deer velvet antler as a food supplement after they reach 8 years of age.

  14. Dog agility champion

Posted by Chelsea Marriner, New Zealand on 5th Oct 2012

Chelsea Marriner has won gold for New Zealand at the World Agility Championships in Britain.
The 18-year-old dog handler competed at the championships over the weekend - with a borrowed dog - and won first place in the jumpers competition.
Chelsea's mother, Alix Marriner, said Sunday night had been very exciting as her daughter kept her up to date with her progress through text messages.
"Then she sent a text which said 'Well I do believe we just won gold at the jumpers'," Mrs Marriner told The Daily Post.
But Chelsea and her parents had to wait several hours for confirmation she had won gold.
"I didn't get much sleep [Sunday] night, I was highly excited. She said she wasn't getting excited until it was confirmed," Mrs Marriner said.
Once the win was confirmed Chelsea said it was "absolutely awesome".
The teenager also excelled in another category, missing out on a medal by just one place.
"This was with a dog she was only working with for three days," Mrs Marriner said.
In New Zealand Chelsea has her own team of agility competition dogs and they all receive Velvet Antler tablets daily to maintain their health and fitness.
"I put my oldest dog Bree onto Velvet Agility Advanced formula, she had been out of competition for 3 months due to injury, once on the Velvet Antler Advanced formula she improved greatly and returned to the competition ring, at one of her first events back competing, she managed to win the first ever Jumpers A (top grade) Challenge Certificate given out in New Zealand, plus came second in Jumpers A2 and 3rd in both Intermediate and Senior."

  15. World Champion

“Zippo,” was an 8 ½ year old Weimaraner, world champion 2006, when we began to see that Zippo was not the same dog, and was showing lack of vitality caused by aging.
After I received a vet's recommendation, I decided to give Zippo Deer velvet antler deer velvet. Three months later, Zippo’s personal coach said that he had never seen Zippo in such a good shape and that he was ready for the world's championship. We had never dreamed that any dog Zippo’s age could win the competition.
There's no doubt that Deer velvet antler helped Zippo to reach first place.
I truly recommend that all dog breeders and owners give their dogs Deer velvet antler as a food supplement on a daily basis in order to improve the quality of their dogs' lives.
My other dog, Multi Ch. Camelot’s Royal Flush “Roy,” which reached Poland's championship in the same competition, also receives Deer velvet antler.
In addition, another dog I own, that suffers from a sensitive gastrointestinal system and who could only eat special medicated food, after receiving Deer velvet antler can now can eat ordinary food with no gastrointestinal problems.”

“Five years ago I was introduced to Deer velvet antler. My dog, "Jet," a mixed, overweight Labrador, started limping on her rear limb. She was diagnosed with partially-torn Cruciate ligaments, went into an orthopedic surgery, and the surgeon replaced her ligaments. As an older, overweight Lab, the recovery from the surgery was hard for her, and soon after recovery she was diagnosed with the same tear of the ligaments in the other knee.
Before another surgery and hard recovery, I decided try an alternative treatment. For 10 days Jet received anti-inflammatory drugs, together with Deer velvet antler. After these 10 days, Jet stayed only on Deer velvet antler for around 2 months and started to show improvement in her limping leg. When these 2 months had passed, Jet became the happy Lab I always knew, and of course started chasing our neighborhood cats! Since then, 5 years ago, Jet is still getting her Deer velvet antler deer velvet, and is functioning perfectly well and happy.
As a veterinarian, I meet a lot of dogs at the clinic suffering from joint and bone diseases. Whether these cases are acute ones caused by trauma, or chronic cases caused by age, my treatment - either supportive or surgical - will always be combined with and followed by Deer velvet antler. As well, since preventative medicine is one of the important tools we veterinarians need to use and since I believe in the advantages of Deer velvet antler, I have also started giving it to large breed puppies for maintaining their skeleton during their growth periods.
Deer velvet antler pills are very palatable, so with dogs and especially with puppies it is very convenient to give – it can even be used as a treat. It is important to note that in addition to healthier and happier dogs, I have also gained much more satisfied customers.”

“In about February 2006 I became aware that products made from natural deer velvet were being used to treat dogs for arthritic conditions. As a result I investigated the use of deer velvet supplements and I studied scientific material that had been published on tests carried out using deer antler velvet. These papers showed that deer velvet supplement had a number of beneficial results. I then started using the New Zealand produced Deer velvet antler product and found that the dogs that were treated with the supplement showed significant signs of improvement in movement and suppleness. Today Deer velvet antler is my first medicine of choice in treating DJD.” - Dr Noam Ronen, Hadera, Israel http://www.dr-noamronen.co.il/

“When I first became aware of the Deer velvet antler deer antler product I carried out trials on two dogs that were referred to my practice. One was a Perinean mountain dog, 6 years of age suffering from severe hip dyspepsia. This dog had been treated with Rimadyl for over one year and Glucosamin for more than three months. The dog had showed no significant improvement as a result of these treatments. The second was a Roti X GSD after trauma and Cox femoral luxation was treated with Rimadyl and Glocosamin for a period of one month but without and marked improvement. Both dogs were treated with Deer velvet antler deer velvet supplement and almost from the day I started them on this treatment, there was a noticeable improvement. For the Perinean (dog # 1), the Rimadyl dosage was reduced to 10% and for the Roti X the Rimadyl treatment was ceased. I now use Deer velvet antler on a regular basis for treatment of DJD in both dogs and cats. Because of the results I have seen from the animals that are treated with the deer velvet supplement, I now personally take the deer velvet supplement specifically formulated for human consumption.” - Dr Mushick Refaelovich, Kfar Saba Israel

My name is Dr. Doron Zur I am a practicing Veterinarian in Israel.
In 2003 as part of a sabbatical study tour I came to New Zealand and joined a veterinary clinic near Wellington as a full time veterinarian for 3 years.
During the early stages of working in New Zealand I was introduced to deer velvet antler as a natural alternative to NSAID’s (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) remedy for joint problems in cats and dogs.
Up until then I had not been aware of deer velvet antler for animal use nor read about it veterinary journals, although I was aware that it had a long history as a highly acclaimed human health tonic in the Orient.
The fact that it was being prescribed in New Zealand fascinated me and being somewhat skeptical I decided to do some testing on locally owned dogs.
I invited 9 dog owners who had dogs demonstrating symptoms of arthritis, hip dysplasia and congenital joint disease to take part in a simple trial.
The results of having these 9 dogs on a daily intake of 560mg of deer velvet antler amazed me.
8 of the 9 dogs in the study showed a marked improvement in their mobility and agility.
This experience led me to greater study of the history and use of velvet antler in both human use and for small animals which was my specialty.
I was so impressed with the effectiveness of velvet antler in treating joint problems in small animals that I approached the manufacturers in New Zealand who offered my company the opportunity to distribute these products in Israel and Italy.
Once I had returned to Israel I continued to prescribe Deer Velvet Antler and made the following observation:
Eighty-five percent of my clients, whose dogs and cats used a supplement containing velvet antler and green lipped mussel, found that there was a marked improvement in the agility and mobility of their pets.

There was also a noticeable improvement in the condition of the animal’s coats and skin.

Deer Velvet Antler proved to be a suitable alternative treatment to the NSAID products with the added bonus that no negative side affects were noted.
